Provision of support to the Country Mayors Association of NSW
The NSW Country Mayors Association (CMA) and its 95 Member Councils has a history of advocating for the millions of people who choose to live, work and play in rural and regional local government areas of NSW.
Their mission is to be a strong voice for rural and regional councils. Their members have the needs and concerns of rural and regional NSW at heart, and advocate for those concerns to be heard at a state and national level.
RDA Northern Inland (NI) have successfully been delivering a tender for the CMA to provide Executive and Research Services for the Association on an annual contract basis.
RDA NI also provide secretariat support services to the organisation, and have been responsible for preparing research, surveys and media messaging to advance the advocacy needs of regional, rural and remote NSW Councils. These key issues have included rural crime/law and order; financial sustainability of local government; major issues surveys; cost-shifting; biodiversity; and development applications.
This contract allows RDA NI to represent and advocate for a diverse range of issues for local councils across NSW, as well as providing RDA NI with important intelligence to inform their broader economic development activities.
