Screenworks, located in the NSW Northern Rivers town of Ballina, promotes and advances the screen industry in regional, rural and remote Australia. Its principal activities provide screen-related development and networking opportunities, programs and initiatives that have been specifically designed to support people living in regional, rural and remote Australia.
With the support of Screen Australia, and in partnership with Jungle Entertainment, Midwinter Films and Screen Queensland, Screenworks is running a week-long Feature Development Lab for the development of a comedy science fiction feature, Croak. Workshop presenters will include internationally acclaimed director Nash Edgerton, and Christiaan and Connor Van Vuuren.
Applications are now open for early-career, regionally-based screen directors and writers to participate in this workshop, which will be held in Gladstone, Queensland. Each participant will be paid $4500, and will have their travel and accommodation costs covered.
