Skilled migration: From Paris to Urbenville
19 June 2019
Regional Development Australia Northern Inland (RDANI), through the Skilled Regional visa program, recently brought Registered Nurse, Arthur D'Artagnan to the region as a skilled migrant.
Mr D’Artagnan came from Paris, France to complete his nursing qualification in Sydney and ended up in the remote Australian town.
As is the case with many small towns, the Urbenville Multipurpose Health Service struggles to recruit Registered Nurses. Arthur is very happy with his decision to migrate to regional NSW noting that he has gained a much broader experience than he would have in a big city.
RDANI EO, Nathan Axelsson said, “Skilled migration is not the only solution for our region’s skills shortages but in Urbenville, it has clearly helped us meet a significant community need.”
The video case study of Arthur D’Artagnan can be viewed at RDA Northern Inland.
