Regions 2030: Unlocking Opportunity in Regional Australia

18 May 2017

On 18 May 2017 the Minister for Regional Development, Senator the Hon Fiona Nash, launched the Australian Government's vision statement for rural, regional and remote Australia: Regions 2030: Unlocking Opportunity.

The Regions 2030 statement sets out a vision for regional Australia, highlights investments and achievements and also the future direction for regional Australia towards 2030.

Activity is being focused across five key areas:

  • Jobs and economic development
  • Infrastructure
  • Health
  • Education
  • Communications

Government initiatives including Regional Development Australia committees, provide a vital link between local community stakeholders and government, advising the Australian Government on critical issues affecting economic development in regions and enhancing awareness of Australian Government programs.

A copy of Regions 2030 can be found at and a hard copy has been posted to each RDA Committee.
