New Sponsorship Grants for Student Science Engagement and International competitions
22 December 2016
New Sponsorship Grants for Student Science Engagement and International Competitions are now open for applications.
The Australian Government is providing $6.4 million over the next four years to support Australian students to participate in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) events in Australia and overseas.
Science competitions and events can be invaluable learning experiences for students, getting them engaged in STEM activities both within and outside their classroom.
Grants of between $1000 and $5000 are available to schools and organisations that apply on behalf of students, with up to $20 000 available for group applications. Applications for over $10 000 must at least match grant funds with cash or in-kind contributions. The grants are available until the annual allocation is used up.
The grants are aimed at supporting Australian students to develop skills and potential career opportunities in STEM fields.
Eligible projects include student participation in international science fairs, getting innovative students in contact with entrepreneurs, or funding a group of students to attend an exciting STEM conference.
