RDA Midwest Gascoyne took over the popular networking group, Women Inspiring Better Business (WIBB), when the Small Business Centre Mid-West closed its doors in 2015.

The first WIBB breakfast saw more than 70 Geraldton business women, and special guest Federal Minister for Durack, Melissa Price, gathered at the Spalding Park Golf Club where guest speaker and TV star, Karina Day from the popular House Rules renovation show, gave a frank and amusing account of her journey.

WIBB showcases different venues, businesses and caterers with events hosted once a month over breakfast. Attendance has steady grown with 80 to 90 women now regularly participating in these popular events.

WIBB provides a warm welcoming meeting place for women across all industry sectors including small home-based businesses to large corporates who all network together. This has proved to be particularly good for many home-based businesses as it creates an opportunity for women to promote networks for better economic and social development across the region.

One example of this is when Hayley from Illegal Tender Rum Company, Dongara presented at WIBB, doors were immediately opened for cross regional collaboration with Chef and business operator Steve Dalgleish, Dalgleish Catering. Steve showcased the local award winning rum in cooking demonstrations at the Mingenew Expo. This regional Expo attracts between 5000-8000 people each day over the two-day event and as a result Hayley also picked up two more wholesalers because of the WIBB presentations.

In September 2018 WIBB held a Business Expo with almost 60 stall holders, representing the diversity of the Mid West economy. The Business Expo showcased local restauranteurs and homebased businesses and also the large business of Mid West Port Authority, AusIndustry and a number of event organisers.

WIBB has shared its story with other regional towns: hosting a breakfast presentation in Dongara with 80 women registered and names for a committee; traveling to Carnarvon to speak with a local group of women also wishing to connect.
