Smart Cities and Suburbs Program Round Two is now open for applications
On Wednesday 2 May 2018, the Minister for Urban Infrastructure and Cities, the Hon Paul Fletcher MP, announced the opening of Round Two of the Australian Government's $50 million Smart Cities and Suburbs Program.
This competitive grants program is helping local governments and their partners to deliver innovative solutions to urban problems, using smart technology, data-driven decision-making and people focussed design.
Over $22 million is available for grants valued at between $250,000 and $5 million. Grants will cover up to 50 per cent of the total project costs.
Round Two encourages applications for collaborative projects, led by local governments, which improve the liveability and increase the productivity and sustainability, of Australia's cities, suburbs and towns.
Applications can be submitted up until 5pm AEST on 2 July 2018. For information on how to apply visit business.gov.au.
Under Round One of the Program, 49 projects from across all states and territories will benefit from around $27.5 million in Australian Government funding.
