Partnerships to grow the future defence workforce

Lockheed Martin Australia (LMA) has joined with RDA Hunter and the University of Newcastle to facilitate the ‘Altitude Accord’. The strategic partnership will bring transformative developments to undergraduate curriculum at the University of Newcastle and develop the future high-value skills of a new generation workforce.
The initiative will focus on growing a local workforce to support the sustainment of Australia’s first squadron of F-35 fighters, with tailored initiatives to develop the advanced defence industry technologies that will be required. Trevor John, RDA Hunter's Director of Regional Development and Executive Officer, stated that “the partnership will facilitate productive collaborations between industry, research, education and government to create opportunities and attract investment to the region”.
More information on the partnership can be found at the RDA Hunter website.
