Regional Development Australia Mid North Coast (RDAMNC) have hosted their second annual Ignite Mid North Coast (MNC) Symposium in Bellingen, NSW on 7 November 2018.

Ignite MNC Symposium, is a business and community event designed by Director of Regional Development, RDAMNC, Kerry Grace to inspire new thinking in the way Mid North Coast residents consider life, community and business.

Launched in 2017 at Bowraville, brain training guru and Gruen Transfer host Todd Sampson delivered an inspirational keynote that inspired professionals from the Mid North Coast region to consider opportunities for new partnerships and the advantages of collaboration.

The theme for 2018 was “Transformation by Design”. The symposium showcased a range of engaging conversations, exhibits, information stands and workshops.

Speakers for this year’s event included Clare Bowditch, Dr Gregory Smith and Fiona Nash.

Topics explored on the day incorporated design thinking, creative industries, digital solutions and SMART technologies.

The event was a great success and enjoyed by the sold out crowd of 170.

Breakdown of audience numbers revealed 51% from SMEs, 8% Government, 15% local government, 15% not for profits, 4% education and 5% community.

With representation from various industries including 15% business services, 11% agriculture, 16% education, 21% local government, 29% creative industries and 5% technology.

22% of the audience came from Coffs Harbour area, 34% Bellingen, 18% Nambucca, 5% Kempsey, 6% Port, 5% Mid Coast and 10% from outside our region.
