RDA arrangements in NSW
RDA in NSW is a partnership between the Australian and NSW Governments.
On 23 February 2009, the then Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Development and Northern Australia, the Hon Gary Gray MP, and New South Wales Minister for Regional Development, the Hon Phillip Costa MP, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of the Australian and New South Wales Governments setting out the arrangements for the creation of RDA.
RDA in NSW ensures a more strategic and responsive approach to regional development and helps guide economic growth across regional NSW. Both the Australian and NSW Governments contribute funds to support the operation of RDA.
The new RDA network in NSW replaces the Australian Government's 14 Area Consultative Committees and the NSW Government's 13 Regional Economic Development Boards. All RDA committees in NSW are incorporated under the NSW Associations Incorporated Act (1984).
