Tripartite Regional Development Australia Agreement Reached in South Australia

On 29 June 2009 in Adelaide, Parliamentary Secretary for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, the Hon Maxine McKew MP, South Australian Minister for Regional Development, the Hon Paul Caica MP, and President of the Local Government Association of South Australia, Mayor Felicity-ann Lewis, reached agreement on arrangements for the new regional consultative body, Regional Development Australia (RDA). The most important task of the new RDAs will be to work with all levels of government on the best way to build jobs and investment in their communities.

Seven newly incorporated RDA boards have been agreed by governments and will be established based on South Australian Government Regions. In addition, an unincorporated advisory board will be set up for the Adelaide Metropolitan Region.
