Chairs and Deputy Chairs Meeting with Parliamentary Secretary McKew and Minister Weatherill

The Chairs and Deputy Chairs of the South Australian RDA Committees attended a meeting on Thursday, 28 January 2010 with the Hon Maxine McKew MP, Parliamentary Secretary for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, and the Hon Jay Weatherill, acting SA Minister for Regional Development.
Participants discussed the strategic direction of RDA, their roles and responsibilities and the RDA work program. Minister's also outlined their expectations of the boards. Mr Chris Russell, representing the Local Government Association of South Australia, also attended the meeting.
This meeting followed an induction seminar for Chairs and Deputy Chairs of the SA RDA Committees held on 2 December 2009 held by the Australian Government Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, the South Australian Government Department of Trade and Economic Development and the Local Government Association of South Australia. The Induction discussed governance and operational issues.
