Memorandum of Understanding Signed by Australian and Australian Capital Territory Governments

Another significant milestone in the delivery of Regional Development Australia (RDA) was achieved on Monday, 25 May 2009. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing RDA in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) was signed by Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Development and Northern Australia, the Hon Gary Gray MP, and Chief Minister, the Jon Stanhope at a ceremony at the ACT Legislative Assembly.
Also in attendance at the MoU signing were the members of the inaugural RDA ACT committee, including the RDA ACT Chair, Mr Ross Barrett, and Deputy Chair, Mr David Malloch. The inaugural committee will manage the transition to RDA and guide the first year of the committee's work, including working with the ACT's surrounding regions. The RDA ACT committee brings together the members of the Capital Region Area Consultative Committee and the Capital Region Development Board.
