Ministers

The Minister for Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government, the Hon. Simon Crean, has appointed a team of eight Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries to assist with engaging regional Australia at the Commonwealth level.

Regional Development Australia (RDA) is an Australian Government initiative that brings together all levels of government to support the development of regional Australia. The Australian Government is working with its state and territory counterparts to engage with regional Australia via RDA. Under a Memorandum of Understanding with state and territory governments, each supports RDA by appointing a Minister with regional development responsibilities.
