Q: When should I submit my Expressions of Interest (EoI) to join an RDA committee?
A: EOIs for the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), Northern Territory (NT) and Victoria are now being sought. Applicants in the ACT and NT are encouraged to submit an EoI by Friday 24 February 2012. Applicants in Victoria are encouraged to submit an EoI by Friday 5 March 2012.
You are encouraged to submit an EoI to the Department of Regional Australia, Local Government, Arts and Sport (the Department) at any time to be considered for future vacancies for your State or Territory.
Q: Once I have opened the EoI form and registered can I return to it at any time?
A: Yes. Please be aware that any session will automatically expire after a period of inactivity and any unsaved information will be lost. The EoI form can be completed over multiple sittings but please ensure that you save your input, log out when you have finished your current sitting and then log back in when continuing. For questions which may take some time to answer you may use your word processing software to copy/paste your response into the relevant area.
Q: I don't have access to a computer. What do I do?
A: Please contact the Department on 1800 505 938 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm AEDST) and the EoI Form and EoI Information Handbook will be mailed to you.
Q: How long will the EoI process take?
A: It will vary between the States and Territories, due to different processes being applied. All EoIs will be acknowledged and candidates informed of the outcome of their EoI.
Q: How do I submit an EoI?
A: The EoI form can be completed online, or through the completion of a hard copy form. Applicants who would like the form posted to them can contact the Department on 1800 505 938 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm AEDST), or email their request to rdaeoi@regional.gov.au.
Q: How long are the appointments for?
A: Terms of appointments are generally up to four years. However, the length of appointment varies between individual States and Territories.
Q: Will I be contacted after submission of the EoI form?
A: The Department will acknowledge receiving an EoI by email or letter within five working days. You will be advised of the outcome of your EoI once Ministers have made decisions on appointments.
Q : When will I be notified about my successful/unsuccessful EoI?
A: The outcome of your expression of interest will be conveyed to you in writing once the relevant Minister/s have finalised appointments by 30 June 2012.
